This username and password is an all access pass to a variety of services including email, and network storage. Students can use their username and password to logon to the computers in the various computer labs (link) and classrooms (link) throughout the building as well as printing services.

All 4th Floor labs have the ability to print to the STS Office – Rm. 4211

Computer Labs
The computer labs contain software and hardware needed for instruction. Determination of the Software and Hardware is acquired and configured based on discussions with the faculty and Manager of Instructional Technology and other members of the IT department.

Lab Schedule
Schedules for the 4th Floor computer labs Room 42054213 and 4221 are posted on each lab door as well as being available on the website. These labs are made available to students when there are no classes being taught unless the rooms have been reserved for a special event. The 1st and 2nd Floor of the Library computer labs are available to students during the periods the library is open. Labs on the 5th 6th and 7th Floor not open to students when classes are not in session unless being supervised by a faculty member. The digital Editing lab located in the TV Studio schedule is also posted.

Supported Hardware
St Francis College has a mixed environment of Windows, Macintosh and Linux. The college supports both Intel Based Personal Computers as well as Macintosh computers with both Intel and non Intel processors.

The minimum network equipment needed is a 10/100/1000 NIC card for wired connections to the LAN considering it is backward compatible. Wireless Access is available in the New Academic Center, Student Lounge Areas and the Cafeteria

User Credentials
Students who do not have their username and password or are having difficulty with their credentials can go to the Student Technology Services Office in room 4211 to get their credentials. In order to get your credentials you will need to have a photo ID and know your student ID number. These credentials will not be given via the telephone or through email.

Credentials and Security
A Student’s password provides a significant level of access to their personal and course information. The college’s network mandates, through security policies, that user passwords contain a minimum of 8 characters with the characters being a combination of letters and numbers with use of a character to increase the level of security. Users should create passwords that are easy for themselves but difficult for others. Use of any biographical information such as birthdays or social security numbers is not recommended. Please be sure that following use of any publicly accessed computer that you log off and close any open browser windows to reduce risk of access. Passwords should not be shared with anyone and should be changed following any printouts either by the Student Technology Services Office or any mailings.
