Special Events for the 2007-2008 Student Government Calendar

1. Terrier Tuesday - (September 4, 2007)

Terrier Tuesday is celebrated every year, the day before Fall classes begin. On Terrier Tuesday, the Student Government Association, joined by the college community, welcomes all incoming freshmen. The event provides freshmen with information on the wide variety of clubs and sports teams at SFC and gives them the opportunity to get involved in extracurricular activities before they even start class. Terrier Tuesday is held in the Genovesi Center and features a DJ, free food, prizes and gifts; games; and much more. ID cards as well as important school information is distributed on this day.

2. Welcome Back Party - (September 21, 2007)
As our second event of the year, the SGA is hosting a party to help get all students excited for the new school year. The night includes nonstop music and dancing with the theme of  “Welcome Back.” It's a great opportunity for students to gather after school to socialize and unwind.

3. Halloween Party

Student Government sponsors and hosts its annual Halloween party featuring a live DJ. The night includes nonstop music, dancing, and so much more. Students can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and have a chance to participate in Halloween festivities. The night will feature a costume competition dance-off.

4. International Luncheon

We are blessed to have a wide diversity of international students here at St. Francis College. Student Government hosts a luncheon featuring dishes from an eclectic group of countries and nationalities. The event is a great way to celebrate our students' different cultures and traditions from all over the world. A feature flag procession will occur where the flag’s country, along with some interesting facts of the respective country, will be presented.

5. Christmas Party

Student Government hosts a party to serve as a way for SGA, clubs, and students to come together for one last time before departing for the Winter Intersession. The SGA takes the time to promote school spirit in this season of caring and warmth. We provide the students with an opportunity to spend time with their classmates where they can reflect on all the good times they experienced during the Fall Semester.

6. Relay for Life

The Relay for Life is the premier fundraising event sponsored by the SGA, with the guiding support of the American Cancer Society. This event provides the community a chance to make a difference – with the money going back to the community as funding for cancer research and awareness programs. During the relay, we celebrate the lives of people who have fought cancer and give hope to those who are still in the fight.

"Participating in such a beautiful event is something that will surely have a lasting effect on an uncountable number of lives."
~ Dominic J. Palastro ’09, Chairman of the Relay for Life Committee of St. Francis College
