Dear SFC Community,
On behalf of the Office of Student Affairs we would like to take this opportunity to update you about our upcoming plans and initiatives to offer aid and relief to the friends and families of those currently affected by the tragic earthquake in Haiti.
As our faculty, staff, administration, and students return for the opening of our spring semester, we will be coordinating ways you can help.
At SFC, student leaders are planning a
Welcome Back Party, Friday, January 22 at 9:00pm where all proceeds will be donated directly to earthquake relief.
Call (718) 489-5215 for tickets. Moreover, the Haitian American Students Association and SFC Dance Team have also decided to postpone their upcoming Talent Show, and instead coordinate a Disaster Relief Concert for late February.
If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can stop by the Office of Student Activities in Room 2303 or contact
Ruben Gonzalez at 718-489-5215. Checks should be made out to "American Red Cross".
In addition, we are supporting two Text to Donate campaigns. Simply text “Haiti” to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the
Red Cross. You can also text "Haiti" to 20222 to make a $10 donation to the
Clinton Foundation. The money will be charged directly to your phone.
Lastly, at this time we request that everyone please continue to check your email and this web page over the coming weeks, as we will begin to finalize all of our relief efforts.
Fill out the suggestion box below to send us any questions or comments.
Thank you,
Ruben Gonzalez
