Business, Management, Finance and IT Professionals now have another option to work towards a Master’s Degree and gain the credit and skills they need to sit for the CPA exam with the new Master’s Degree in Professional Accountancy offered by St. Francis College. Course work can be completed in just four semesters, with classes offered on a flexible night schedule. Two Open Houses to launch the program will be held at the College on Wednesday, August 18 and Monday, August 30 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
“This program is a great way for people who have spent some time in the business world to gain valuable, new tools to re-enter the workforce as accountants,” said Dr. Carmine Nogara, Chair of the St. Francis Department of Accounting and Business Law. “There’s a lot of overlap in the skill sets and we believe we will have great success helping people redirect their workplace goals.”
Members of the Accounting Department, Admissions Office and Financial Aid Department will all be on hand to talk about the specifics of the program, academic requirements and answer questions concerning tuition.
The program offers a mix of accounting theory and reporting, taxation, managerial accounting, systems, and auditing. (

The new Master’s is a complement to the College’s first Master’s Program, a five year combined BS/MS in Accounting. That program has graduated three classes of students and has already established itself with graduates earning jobs at Big Four accounting firms as well as mid-sized private firms and public sector jobs.
