Applying for Financial Aid has Never Been Easier!The information below will help you get started on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The information that you provide will be used to determine how much money you can receive in scholarships and loans to help you pay for college.
Step 1. Apply for a PIN number at www.pin.ed.govThe Personal Identification Number (PIN) serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems. Students and parents must apply for their own pin.
Step 2. Complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal scholarships and loans. St. Francis requires all students to complete a FAFSA in order to be considered for institutional scholarships and grants.

Step 3. Apply for New York State TAPIf you are a New York State resident (and your parents are New York State residents who claim you as a dependent on their tax return) you should also
apply for TAP. This can also be done while completing your FAFSA.

Step 4. Complete your online loan entrance counselingAll students who choose to borrow money must
complete loan counseling. You are not obligated to borrow money if you complete counseling.
Step 5. Complete your electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN)All students must complete an
eMPN before a Federal Subsidized loan may be certified by the College.
Step 6. Wait for your Award Letter from the College Your award letter will tell you what types of financial aid you are eligible to receive. Once you receive your award letter, sign and return a copy to the Office of Student Financial Services.
