Physical Education

Our nation’s constant battle against obesity makes Physical Education one of the most relevant and practical majors at St. Francis College today. The Physical Education Major is part of the Education Department and boosts a highly successful track record, putting many students on the path for a variety of future careers.

Physical Education majors take courses including Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Psychology of Sport and many more. Topics covered in these classes range from the science of body movement to exercise physiology to legal concepts and practical teaching skills.

Many graduates have gone on to get their New York State Teacher’s Certification in Physical Education and are now teaching in New York City public and private schools as well as across the region. Others pursue careers as personal and team trainers, coaches, sports psychologists and physical therapists.

Make a difference in people’s lives; pursue your degree in Physical Education.
