As a Criminal Justice major at St. Francis College, you will learn about social issues; the theory, research, policy, and practice of criminal justice; and how to think critically and objectively. In addition to our regular faculty instructors, students have the opportunity to be taught by adjuncts who are working professionals in criminal justice. And with the option to minor in forensic science, you can further enhance your skills and make yourself all the more attractive to potential employers.

The job outlook for Criminal Justice majors at all levels is excellent. Many graduates from the Criminal Justice department at St. Francis College go on to become New York City Police Officers, with several of our alumni rising to the top ranks in the NYPD. Other graduates have gone on to careers at the state level fighting Medicaid fraud as well as jobs at the federal level; in probation and parole; corrections; the Environmental Protection Agency; the Occupational Health and Safety Administration; and the rapidly growing area of private security. Many of our Criminal Justice majors also go on to graduate and law school and find careers in administration, research, and criminal justice policy.
