Professor Lancaster Talks About Successful Student Research.

Expertise in Cognitive Therapy, Treatment of Panic and Anxiety Disorders & the Teaching of Psychology

Synopsis
Professor Lancaster joined the faculty at St. Francis College in 2000. Her work spans a variety of different areas including clinical applications (treatment of anxiety disorders and utilizing cognitive therapy), cross-cultural psychology (Advisory Board, Institute for International and Cross-Cultural Psychology), and the teaching of psychology (developing lab manuals, mentoring thesis projects, issues of academic integrity). She is a licensed Psychologist and the co-founder and Clinical Director of the New York Cognitive Therapy and Wellness Center, a private mental health center which serves Babylon, Long Island and surrounding areas. Under Professor Lancaster’s supervision at the Center, doctoral students from area universities are able to complete their internships.  

Professor Lancaster is also the Faculty Athletic Representative at St. Francis College and has been involved in studies of student-athletes. The NCAA has asked her to continue to contribute to future research in the area.

On St. Francis College
St. Francis has been my second home for the last eight years and I have enjoyed my experiences both in and out of the classroom.  I feel blessed to have been asked to join the faculty and I am rewarded each day in watching my students succeed academically and develop into productive, caring adults.
